One job, every stage

Kitchen extension and two toilets at the same address. Here is the order the work went in.

01
Strip out
A stripped-out bathroom taken back to bare brick and screed, with a ladder, rubble and a length of new PVC waste pipe on the floor.

Back to brick and screed

Both toilets came out completely — old tiles off, walls and floor taken back to the structure before anything new went in.

02
Services first
A steel reinforcement mesh tied over an old tiled floor, threaded through with grey electrical conduit and a white waste pipe.

Wiring and drainage go in before the concrete

Electrical conduit and the waste pipe are threaded through the reinforcement while the slab is still open. Nothing has to be chased back in afterwards.

03
Slab and structure
Three workers on top of a newly built, rendered ground-floor extension against an apartment block, tying steel reinforcement along its walls.

We build the extension, not only the finish

The new walls are built and rendered, then our crew ties the steel for the top of the extension on site.

04
Waterproofing and tiling
A full-height shower wall in black-and-grey leaf-pattern tile with three stepped corner shelves formed into it, a black rain-shower set and an instant water heater.

Two layers before a single tile

Sika 107 and Bostik Fiber Waterproofing Coat, two layers, then the new tiling over the top. The shelves are formed into the wall, not stuck on.

05
Sanitary and doors
A completed bathroom in grey-veined marble-effect tile with a dark vanity unit, white basin, tall mirror, close-coupled WC and a black-framed door with frosted glazing.

WC, basin, mirror cabinet, new plumbing

Both toilets came back with new sanitary ware, a cabinet mirror and a black-framed door — finished, not left for another trade.

06
Tiled and wired
A tiled kitchen extension: a black marble-effect tiled worktop returning along the wall under a black cooker hood, a grey-and-white swirl-pattern feature tile band behind, and the new hob still in its packing on the worktop.

Kitchen extension, floor to wall

Tiled throughout, a new table top with a tiled surface, and the electrical wiring done as part of the same scope.
